This position is located in Pullman, WA and may be eligible for a remote or hybrid schedule. The WSU Foundation builds philanthropic relationships, broadens the donor base, and supports Washington State University’s mission and goals. This role serves as WSUF’s Campaign Director, providing leadership, strategy, and oversight of campaign efforts and assigned units. You will help create philanthropic strategies and campaign plans, manage committees, and collaborate with staff, alumni and external constituents to meet campaign goals. You will work with top leadership to develop a strategic plan with ambitious yet realistic campaign goals and programs for identification, cultivation and solicitation of top-tier prospects in support of the university’s comprehensive campaign. This is a management position that includes supervising staff, hiring decisions, coaching, training, mentoring, performance management and succession considerations. You will also participate on cross-functional project teams within WSU Advancement as a member of the WSU Advancement Leadership Team. Responsibilities

Provide leadership and strategy for successful campaign implementation and oversight of assigned units within the Washington State University Foundation (WSUF). Serve as Campaign Director, creating philanthropic strategies and campaign plans; manage campaign committees; partner with staff, alumni and external constituencies to fulfill campaign goals. Collaborate with senior leadership to create a strategic plan with campaign/fundraising goals and establish programs for identification, cultivation and solicitation of top-tier prospects. Supervise staff directly, make hiring decisions, provide coaching, training and mentoring, manage performance and determine future staffing needs. Participate on cross-functional project teams within WSU Advancement to optimize campaign strategy. Qualifications

Master’s Degree in a related field and minimum of eight (8) years of fundraising/development experience in a complex organization; preference for higher education experience. Education/experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Expert knowledge of higher education fundraising trends, large-scale campaigns, annual giving, communications and marketing, donor relations and stewardship. Experience working on campaigns of $1 billion or greater. Seven (7)+ years of experience managing advancement teams. Strong understanding of the academic enterprise and ability to articulate academic values internally and externally. Knowledge of proposal development, fundraising principles and techniques; project management skills; event planning experience. Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain internal and external relationships. Proven ability to motivate and manage individuals and teams for high performance. Commitment to employee inclusion and professional development. Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet driving standards as per SPPM 7.10 and departmental requirements. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a complex academic environment (e.g., large state university with multiple colleges, campuses and programs). Advanced degree. Benefits and Compensation

Full-time, 100% FTE, permanent position. Overtime-exempt. Monthly salary range: $14,584 - $19,583, commensurate with experience and qualifications. See RCW 49.58.110 for full salary range disclosure.
