About The Role The Principal of Design works closely with the Founder and CEO Francisco Gonzalez Pulido to maintain and advance design excellence across all projects of the Atelier. This role leads creative direction for complex projects across a range of scales and typologies building upon the Atelier’s design approach which aligns design, science, art, and technology, while relying on multidisciplinary inception and advanced engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Guide alongside founder and CEO the Atelier’s design vision and strategy across all projects.
Lead and produce conceptual and schematic design for complex developments aligned with ATELIER FGP’s philosophy.
Provide critique and review during design development and construction documentation to maintain design integrity.
Lead and mentor Senior Designers, and teams to foster design innovation.
Prepare and oversee presentations to clients and competition juries with strong communication of design intent.
Collaborate with executive leadership to align design excellence with business goals and growth.
Strengthen international design presence through leadership in global projects and partnerships.
Work closely with the Principal of Production to ensure seamless integration of design and delivery.
Represent the firm in competitions, conferences, and publications as a design ambassador.
Qualifications
Professional degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 15 years of professional experience with significant design leadership responsibilities.
Licensed Architect.
Proven portfolio of complex international projects (airports, stadiums, cultural institutions, high-rise).
Strong international exposure and cross-cultural design experience.
Exceptional leadership, mentorship, and communication capabilities.
Proficiency with Revit, Rhino, and other digital design tools.
Personal Attributes
Visionary thinker with a strong architectural voice.
Collaborative and empathetic leader.
Strategic mindset integrating design innovation into firm goals.
Confident communicator able to represent design ideas at the highest level.
