Who We Are Looking For The Senior Medical Science Liaison has the primary responsibility of building key opinion leader (KOL) partnerships by engaging in the exchange of scientific data and other medical or scientific information with external stakeholders (HCPs, researchers, professional organization leadership, patient advocacy groups, and formulary decision-makers) in pulmonary hypertension (PH) and interstitial lung disease (ILD)-PH therapeutic areas across the aligned geography. Scientific engagements include establishing and maintaining educational and research collaborations; delivery of clinical, scientific, and technical education; and building long‑term peer‑to‑peer relationships with key stakeholders. The successful Senior MSL will communicate complex, cutting‑edge scientific information and research concepts to healthcare decision makers, including but not limited to those at academic medical centers. Candidates should live in or near Memphis, Nashville, Louisville, Birmingham, Atlanta, or other southeastern U.S. cities.
Main Responsibilities
Build external KOL partnerships with recognized community, academic medical centers, and centers of excellence to identify and address scientific needs and stay abreast of current scientific trends.
Identify and develop key thought leaders for medical education, clinical research and publication opportunities; cultivate existing and new collaborative KOL relationships for advisory boards, company‑sponsored, investigator‑initiated research, and speaker development.
Provide scientific education and medical support to healthcare professionals (HCPs) at key institutions, answering unsolicited questions about PAH and ILD‑PH therapeutic areas, and fostering professional relationships within the assigned geography.
Represent Chiesi USA Medical Affairs at national, regional, and local scientific meetings; facilitate cross‑functional engagement based on customer needs and real‑world evidence opportunities.
Support and lead internal medical projects aligned to the development plan, participate in publication planning, clinical research, medical education material development, and internal training initiatives.
Execute administrative duties such as accurate documentation of field activities, expense reporting, and completion of required training.
Experience Required
5+ years of MSL experience; 3–5 years within PH and/or ILD‑PH; prior launch experience in pulmonary hypertension strongly preferred.
Ability to build and leverage strategic internal and external relationships to identify opportunities and partnerships that improve quality of care.
Demonstrated discipline and resilience with skillful planning, prioritization, and execution of multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; highly articulate and persuasive during formal and informal presentations.
Strong scientific and clinical expertise in therapeutic area, including pharmacoeconomic and real‑world evidence knowledge.
Education Completion of a graduate level degree (PharmD, MD, DO, DNP, PhD, MSN, MS or equivalent healthcare professional degree) along with relevant clinical experience.
Compensation The annual base pay for this position ranges from $161,280 to $197,120. Base pay is offered at market‑based levels and may be modified at any time.
