Senior Director, Business & Legal Affairs

The Senior Director of Business & Legal Affairs will report to the SVP of Business & Legal Affairs in New York and provide strategic legal counsel across a broad range of commercial transactions worldwide.
Responsibilities
Act as subject‑matter expert in complex, multi‑stakeholder commercial transactions, including information technology, intellectual property, e‑commerce, direct‑to‑consumer, supply chain, privacy (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), data, distribution, AI, VR, and related areas.
Draft and negotiate a wide array of agreements: technology master/service agreements, SOWs, software licensing, cloud subscription models, IP licensing, marketing & advertising contracts, e‑commerce and supply‑chain deals, privacy & data processing agreements, joint ventures, profit shares, non‑disclosures, term extensions, and addenda covering information security, risk management, insurance, and related corporate matters.
Conduct and manage legal and business‑risk assessments for cross‑functional teams, communicating actionable guidance to key stakeholders.
Independently manage a high‑volume pipeline of legal transactions from initiation through execution in a fast‑moving, constantly evolving environment.
Develop, update, and maintain contract templates, clause libraries, and collaboration tools such as Monday.com.
Oversee external counsel engagements and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
Maintain genuine interest in music and technology.
Qualifications
4–7+ years in‑house at a major record label or comparable law‑firm experience (entry‑level positions excluded).
Extensive experience handling the subject‑matter areas and agreement types listed above.
Strong track record in drafting, negotiating, and managing complex commercial agreements.
Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
Education & License
J.D. required.
Admission to the New York or California State Bar, in good standing.
