The Capital One Consumer Bank Marketing Operations and Technology team is a growing group looking to bring in new, excited marketers. MarTech is responsible for managing consumer data and audiences, automating marketing technologies & platforms, reporting and analytics, incentives, prioritization and workflow, well‑managed and delivering a best‑class web and SEO experience.
The SEO program consists of numerous workstreams: acquisitions SEO, local SEO, content marketing, technical improvements, SEO reporting and analytics, SEO research and consultation. We exist to “be found, help people and grow the business.”

The SEO Marketing Senior Associate role will be responsible for bringing our SEO program to life across the workstreams. They will need to be able to thoughtfully execute end‑to‑end marketing practices―from organic keyword and competitive research, to agency and editorial briefing and creative development, through results analysis to feed the next cycle of work―to deliver impactful, bottom‑line business growth.
Your mission will be to attract, engage, and convert prospective customers by creating a best‑in‑class content and acquisition experience that answers their most pressing financial questions and positions Capital One as their trusted partner. You'll be the engine behind our organic growth strategy for checking, blending the art of compelling storytelling with the science of search engine optimization.
You’ll dive deep into consumer intent, conduct meticulous keyword research, and craft content that not only ranks highly but also builds trust and drives account applications. This isn’t just about writing blog posts; it’s about owning the end‑to‑end content lifecycle—from strategy and creation to optimization and performance analysis—all with the goal of helping more Americans find the right product or service.
General Responsibilities
Incorporate SEO best practices into all marketing to improve organic rankings, traffic and accounts to Capital One web properties
Review organic search research (content gap, competitive, technical, etc.) to identify relevant trends and patterns to inform on‑site & off‑site development
Create holistic editorial briefs, leading to compelling customer and prospect communications
Review and provide feedback on marketing channel assets, such as articles and videos; apply foundational industry, bank and Capital One product knowledge to improve these assets
Manage marketing creative review processes in workflow management systems
Tactfully negotiate compromises and common ground with stakeholders to find solutions during creative development
Monitor, manage and organize SEO intake requests from internal and external partner groups; digest information and communicate relevant points to agencies and internal partners
Flawlessly execute a well‑managed governance process to ensure audit readiness for all consumer‑facing marketing assets
Provide feedback and share with key stakeholders on web analytics, KPIs and SEO reports to highlight business‑relevant insights; create and manage dashboards for respective KPIs
Day‑to‑day management of agency partners; including building and iterating on meeting agendas, compiling takeaways and action items, communicating leadership messages to partners and handling all scheduling and logistics
Seamlessly manage a budget across multiple internal partners and external agencies
Manage workload in agile environment

SEO Strategy & Execution
Keyword Research & Analysis: Conduct in‑depth keyword research to identify high‑intent queries related to checking accounts, online banking, financial wellness, and competitor products. You'll uncover opportunities across the entire customer journey.
On‑Page SEO: Master the art of on‑page optimization, ensuring all new and existing content (articles, landing pages, FAQs, product pages) is perfectly optimized for our target keywords. This includes writing compelling meta descriptions, structuring content with proper headers, optimizing images, and building a smart internal linking strategy.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Constantly measure what matters. You’ll use tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush to monitor rankings, traffic, engagement, and conversions. You’ll deliver clear, actionable insights and reports to stakeholders in partnership with business analyst and data analyst support.
Content Marketing & Development
Content Strategy & Planning: Develop and manage a robust content calendar for our checking account products. Your strategy will be grounded in SEO insights, customer research, and business priorities, addressing topics like "how to open a checking account," "understanding overdraft options," and "benefits of mobile banking."
Content Creation & Management: Write, edit, and publish clear, empathetic, and jargon‑free content that simplifies complex financial topics. You'll collaborate with freelance writers, designers, and video producers to create a rich mix of content formats.
Compliance & Brand Alignment: Work closely with our Legal and Compliance partners to ensure all content is accurate, transparent, and meets the strict standards of a regulated financial institution. You'll become an expert in our brand voice and tone.
Competitive Analysis: Keep a pulse on the competitive landscape, analyzing what other banks and fintech companies are doing in the content and SEO space to ensure Capital One remains a leader.
Innovate: Find the leverage and maximize value in the ever‑changing search landscape with a focus on AIO and GEO measurement, technical and content strategies implementation.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least 3 years of digital marketing experience
At least 3 years of experience using G‑Suite
At least 3 years of experience with Google Analytics and Google Marketing Platform products

Experience in agile marketing principles
4+ years of SEO marketing experience
Experience working with Google Search Console, Data Studio, STAT, or SEMRushData
