Job Summary The work of a Warehouse Agent includes the loading and unloading of cargo; the receiving, delivering and physical handling of freight and company material; exporting at the designated docks; completing forms and messages related to the performance of the designated tasks. The role may also involve routine cleaning of work areas, assisting in monitoring security of the facility, and complying with WFS site security procedures.

Responsibilities

Responsible for moving air cargo within the designated warehouse.

Load and unload cargo from pallets and containers.

Build up cargo for outbound flights.

Break down cargo from import flights.

Facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo to and from semitrucks.

Operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift, aircraft pallets and pallet jacks.

Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents when accepting or delivering cargo.

Confirm Dangerous Goods have been checked within aircraft limits and follow specific procedures for DG shipments.

Understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings.

Minimum Requirements

HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and days off.

Job is covered by the collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU). Union membership and dues required.

Preferred Skills

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Ability to work in all types of weather conditions and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust and jet engine noise.

Ability to distinguish colors: red, green and yellow.
