Overview Early Childhood Developmental Specialist (ECDS) - Pediatrics at Friendship Community Care, Inc. This role supports young children with developmental delays or disabilities in our Early Intervention Day Treatment center. You will provide individualized instruction, assist with therapy goals, ensure a safe and engaging environment, and work closely with families and team members to promote each child's growth, independence, and well-being.

Schedule and Location Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:45 am - 4:15 pm. Job Location: Siloam Springs, AR. Position Type: Full Time. Education level: Bachelor\'s degree (B.S or B.A) from a four-year college or university and one of the following credentials or documented experience: Child Development Associate credential, Birth to PreK credential, documented experience working with special needs children and 12 hours of completed college coursework in early childhood, child development, special education, elementary education, or child/family studies. Supervisory skills required. Pay: BOE/Competitive Pay.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned:

Professional Duties And Responsibilities

Demonstrates mastery of each child\'s curriculum outcomes and communicates these to teacher assistants and parents.

Actively contribute to the development of improved curriculum to support plan of care outcomes, child growth, development, and kindergarten readiness indicators.

Maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning and active engagement.

Plan learning activities that address diverse needs, abilities, and skills.

Develop cooperative, energetic, flexible, and creative working relationships with children, colleagues, and administration.

Facilitate child participation in developing and achieving classroom mastery level concepts.

Monitor and record child mastery concepts aligned with the plan of care.

Prepare and complete plans of care for each child on caseload. Actively participate in Enrollment, Annual Review, and Dismissal conferences.

Implement and monitor Individual Treatment Plans (ITP), Behavior Management Systems, and individualized behavior intervention plans as needed.

Report child progress to parents accurately and professionally.

Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, and parents to create ITP; work with therapists in classroom settings to achieve best outcomes.

Conduct face-to-face interdisciplinary enrollment conferences for all DD children and annually thereafter; provide referrals and eligibility evaluations as needed; present and interpret evaluations to parents during conferences; conduct evaluations when qualified.

Conduct developmental screenings as scheduled or requested.

Facilitate smooth transitions to public school by scheduling conferences with families and appropriate school districts; complete all required paperwork.

Review and approve day habilitation notes in Credible for accuracy daily.

Disaggregate test data to determine instructional needs for each child on caseload.

Classroom Duties And Responsibilities

Use and care for materials and supplies properly.

Develop and post lesson plans using approved curriculum so substitutes can follow in the teacher\'s absence.

Prepare curriculum materials in advance and actively teach skill lessons in groups or individually per plan of care.

Directly supervise and engage all children in classrooms throughout the day.

Develop, implement, and oversee classroom schedules.

Maintain an environment based on ITERS/ECERS standards, sustaining a rating of 4+ in DD classrooms and 5 in ABC/ABCSS classrooms.

Use positive behavior guidance and classroom management techniques in accordance with DHS/DDS regulations and FCC guidelines.

Ensure Quality Standards of Care are met; prepare the room for children\'s arrival each morning.

Maintain classroom ratios at all times; communicate with program administrator and teacher assistants to ensure compliance.

Plan and organize parent/family involvement events; communicate with parents regularly (monthly calendars, daily notes, newsletters, etc.).

Report child record updates to office staff as needed; complete required documentation in a timely manner.

Follow FCC Policy/Procedures and minimum licensing requirements for childcare centers; adhere to OSHA/Infection Control guidelines.

Assist with nursing duties, such as medication administration and medical procedures after training.

ABC/ABCSS Duties And Responsibilities

Complete developmental screenings on all ABC/ABCSS children within 10 days of enrollment and refer any who fail screening.

Collect Work Sampling/Ounce data and maintain portfolios for ABC/ABCSS children.

Enter Work Sampling/Ounce data into the database system; complete ABC data entry in COPA for ABC children.

Conduct a minimum of two parent-teacher conferences for ABC/ABCSS children; provide direct teaching in classroom for at least seven hours per day per ABC student.

Coordinate with families to fill ABC classroom slots as openings arise and assist in ABC/ABCSS enrollment as directed by Program Administrator.

Supervisory Duties And Responsibilities

Identify strengths and weaknesses of assigned teacher assistants; coach to improve performance.

Conduct annual evaluations of assigned teacher assistants.

Demonstrate professional growth and apply learning to classroom activities.

Perform duties as needed as back-up Lead Teacher.

Report signs of abuse/neglect promptly; conduct regular staff meetings (no less than 30 minutes) to review goals, procedures, and provide staff development.

Other duties as assigned.

Professional Development Duties And Responsibilities

Attend in-house meetings, trainings, workshops, conferences, and parent functions; may require travel.

Participate in weekly, monthly, and annual staff meetings; develop and conduct monthly staff training as needed.

Attend required trainings by Administration and licensing units; obtain required professional development hours yearly.

Maintain current certification in Infant/Toddler CPR, First Aid, and OSHA; Arkansas teacher licensure if applicable; protect client confidentiality per policy and HIPAA.

Math: Basic arithmetic; interpret graphs. Reasoning: Solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various forms.

Physical Demands Regular use of hands; standing, walking, and reaching; occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements as specified.
