Salary : $81,400 - $92,600
Under general supervision, functions as an expert system administrator engaged in installing, configuring and maintaining hardware and operating system software in support of business processing requirements. Participates in mentoring, training and development of technical staff.
Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.
Designs, installs, configures, and maintains operating system servers in support of business requirements.
Performs software installations and upgrades to hardware and operating system software; maintains in accordance with established information technology policies and procedures.
Participates in mentoring, training and development of technical staff.
Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
Ensures long‑term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization.
Ensures media management through internal methods and procedures and use of offsite storage and retrieval services.
Resolves complex procedural, operational, and technical problems.
Recommends and ensures the security of the infrastructure hardware and operating system software.
Performs other job‑related duties as required.
Experience with
Multi Cloud : AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
Candidate should be certified as an
AWS Solution Architect .
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job‑related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job‑related experience.
