Your Job: We are looking for an experienced IT specialist to plan, further develop and operate our Microsoft Hyper‑V‑based virtualization infrastructure with high availability.

The position includes both development and operational tasks in the environment of Windows Server, Hyper‑V, System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and SQL Server.

The role requires fluent German speaking candidate as close cooperation with internal departments, external partners, auditors and documentation in German language is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, further development and optimization of complex Hyper‑V cluster environments for production and test systems.

Plan and implement automation solutions for deploying, configuring, and managing virtual machines (e.g., PowerShell DSC, Azure Automation Hybrid Worker).

Integration of new features and technologies into the existing infrastructure, taking into account high availability, scalability and security.

Development and maintenance of scripts (PowerShell, Python) to automate routine tasks and system checks.

Operation & Administration

Administration and operation of Microsoft Hyper‑V environments incl. Failover, clustering, and live migration.

Manage and maintain SCVMM for centralized control and automation of virtualization infrastructure.

Manage SCCM for software distribution, patch management, and endpoint management.

Operate and optimize SQL Server databases that support SCVMM, SCCM, or management reporting.

Plan and execute patching, upgrade, and lifecycle actions.

Implement and monitor backup and recovery strategies for virtual machines.

Monitoring, Security & Compliance

Setting up and maintaining monitoring and alerting systems (e.g. SCOM, Azure Monitor, PRTG).

Implementation of security hardening measures for Hyper‑V hosts and management systems.

Ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements (e.g. B.ISO 27001, GDPR).

Participation in audits, risk analyses and security checks.

Technical advice and support for projects in the field of virtualization, Cloud integration and migration.

Collaborate with network, storage, database, and application teams.

Creation and maintenance of detailed technical documentation in German for operation, training and audits.

Qualifications: Technical:

Several years of professional experience in Hyper‑V administration (clusters, high availability, live migration).

Very good knowledge of Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022).

Experience with SCVMM and SCCM in complex enterprise environments.

Sound knowledge of SQL Server administration and queries (T‑SQL, performance optimization).

Experience in PowerShell scripting and automation.

Knowledge of backup and restore procedures (e.g. Veeam, DPM).

Understanding of network and storage architectures in the virtualization environment.

Methodical:

Experience with ITIL (Incident, Change, Problem Management) processes.

Knowledge of project management methods (classic and agile).

Ability to analyze and solve problems in a structured manner.

Very good written and spoken German language proficiency (at least C1).

Good knowledge of English for international project work.
