We are looking for an experienced specialist to design, further develop and operate our IBM AIX-based IT infrastructure, including system development and operational tasks in enterprise server landscapes on IBM Power Systems, virtualization, automation and performance tuning. The role requires a fluent German-speaking candidate to coordinate with internal departments, external partners, auditors and for the preparation of technical documentation. Key Responsibilities
Design and implementation of AIX system architectures with attention to scalability, security and high availability. Develop Bash, KornShell and Python scripts to automate system administration processes. Create adaptations and system extensions in close coordination with application development. Integrate new hardware and software solutions into existing AIX environments. Operation & Administration
Administration and operation of complex AIX production systems, including LPAR/DLPAR management. Manage and optimize PowerVM, VIOS, and HMC configurations. Plan and execute patching and upgrade processes. Proactive monitoring and performance optimization. Incident analysis, troubleshooting and incident management according to ITIL standards. Security & Compliance
Implementation of security hardening measures (e.g., CIS benchmarks, RBAC configurations). Creation and maintenance of backup and recovery concepts. Support with audits and implementation of regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR). Technical advice and support of projects in the AIX environment. Close cooperation with storage, network and application teams. Preparation of detailed technical documentation and operating manuals in German. Qualifications
Technical:
Several years of experience in AIX administration (versions 7.x and above). Technical:
Very good knowledge of IBM Power Systems and PowerVM. Technical:
Experience in shell scripting (KSH, Bash) and automation. Technical:
Knowledge of HMC, VIOS, NPIV, SEA configurations. Technical:
Experience with backup and restore strategies (e.g., mksysb, savevg). Technical:
Basic knowledge of SAN and network architectures. Technical:
Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting. Methodical:
ITIL knowledge and experience in structured incident, problem and change management. Methodical:
