Job Responsibilities
Responsible for supplier quality risk management; develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and is knowledgeable in assessing supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root‑cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.
Supports maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list.
Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process; keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks.
Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases.
Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs.
Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow‑downs.
May be filled at a higher level.
Basic Qualifications
Supplier Quality Engineer : 1 year with Bachelors in Science; 0 years with Masters. 3 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Principal Supplier Quality Engineer : 4 years with Bachelors in Science; 2 years with Masters; 1 year with PhD. 8 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Primary Level Salary Range : $70,200.00 - $105,400.00 Secondary Level Salary Range : $86,600.00 - $130,000.00
Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in VP or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
