Open Faculty Search, Tenure Track, Physiology and Cell Biology (Open)

School of Biomedicine Science, Physiology and Cell Biology, The Ohio State University College of Medicine
Position Summary:
The Department of Physiology & Cell Biology is initiating an open rank search for outstanding scientists for tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels. Candidates will be expected to conduct high‑impact research, provide service to the university and profession, and teach at undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct basic and/or translational research in areas such as cell signaling, cytoskeletal actin/myosin function, ion flux regulation, muscle structure and function, cardiovascular disease, metabolic function, inflammation, or lung pathobiology.
Develop and lead an independent, externally funded research program.
Provide training and mentorship to students and postdoctoral fellows.
Engage in teaching and curricular development at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels.
Participate in departmental and university service activities.
Qualifications:
Ph.D., D.V.M. and/or M.D. degree.
Strong scholarly record with a history of peer‑reviewed publications.
Evidence of potential for an externally funded, independent research program (e.g., transition‑to‑faculty grants, existing investigator funding).
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
Teaching experience and commitment to excellence in education are preferred.

Statement on the planned independent research program (up to two pages).
Letters of reference (additional materials may be requested).
