About the Role As a Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you will provide personalized, one-to-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. Your responsibilities include helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Location: In‑Person Tutoring in Foster City, CA
Schedule: 1–2 sessions a week, 2–3 hours each (TBD)
Pay Rate: $25–$35 per session
Ideal Candidate
Minimum 2–3 years of experience working with neurodivergent learners or students with IEPs
Background in special education, speech/language development, ABA, or related field
Deep understanding of Autism, ADHD, and emotional regulation strategies
Ability to individualize instruction using visual, tactile, and auditory modalities
Strong observational and communication skills to interpret student needs and progress
Reliable, empathetic, and flexible in approach
Experience conducting informal assessments and adapting curriculum accordingly
Responsibilities
Deliver foundational instruction in early literacy and math, aligned with the student’s developmental level and learning profile.
Support development of functional communication skills to help the student identify and express physical discomfort and emotional distress.
Integrate SEL strategies to promote emotional regulation and interpersonal awareness.
Use visual aids, simplified language, hands‑on materials, and consistent routines to enhance comprehension and engagement.
Provide frequent movement breaks and sensory‑friendly activities to support attention and reduce overstimulation.
Respond to nonverbal cues and offer meaningful choices to foster autonomy and reduce frustration.
Model and support self‑regulation strategies during challenging or unstructured moments.
Conduct an initial informal assessment to guide instructional planning and individualized goals.
