Overview
Federal Reserve Bank of New York — The Statistics Product Strategy and Support team in Research and Statistics Group (RSG) analyzes regulatory reports and other data filings to ensure information is correct, complete, and fit for use. Data is passed to end users across Monetary Affairs, Markets, Supervision, Research, and Treasury. The SPSS Product Owners manage the product lifecycle from initiation to retirement, with technology capabilities that adapt to market and regulatory changes.
The Statistics Product Team collaborates with business counterparts and stakeholders on technology solutions that advance the Function Mission and Objectives.
How You’ll Make an Impact as a Product Owner
Product Strategy and Vision
— Define and communicate a clear product vision and roadmaps with measurable outcomes aligned with business objectives. Coordinate with technology partners to integrate into the Bank technology roadmap and align interdependencies.
Define, monitor, and communicate product-specific objectives and key results that align with Bank and Function objectives.
Design and integrate usability studies and research into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction and ensure customer-driven design.
Work within delivery squads to design and deliver new or complex products and capabilities.
Product Management
Define and prioritize product requirements based on customer and Bank needs, trends, and business objectives.
Manage the backlog and ensure a continuous flow of user stories for the development team.
Collaborate with UAT coordinator on user acceptance testing approach and scripts; plan releases with the squad.
Partner with support teams when required and coordinate change management and communications for rollout and adoption of new capabilities.
Stakeholder Management
Effectively communicate product plans, roadmaps, and progress to internal stakeholders and leadership.
Represent the voice of the customer and advocate for their needs throughout the product lifecycle.
Advise and coach product managers and stakeholders in establishing business value and in messaging, communication, and outreach.
Agile Practices
Partner with Scrum Master and technical teams to participate in agile ceremonies (standups, sprint demos, retrospectives, sprint planning, backlog refinement).
continually improve processes and tools to enhance productivity and product quality.
Promote agile behaviors to accelerate the transition to the new operating model.
The Unique Skill Sets We’re Looking For
Product leadership experience in data collection and data management, data quality and analytics and business process management in customer-facing products and services.
Subject matter expertise in data management and data analytics including self-service analytics and business rules tools.
Proven track record of delivering complex software products and solutions.
Experience working in an Agile delivery model, preferably Certified Product Owner.
Superior communication and presentation skills.
Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Other Things to Know
Salary Range: $150000 - $200000 / year
We believe in transparency. This salary range reflects a variety of skills and experiences candidates may bring. We pay individuals along this range based on their background. We aim to pay competitively for contributions.
This position requires access to Treasury sensitive information, confidential supervisory information (CSI), and/or Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) information. Access is limited to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, certain protected individuals, and other nonimmigrants as defined by policy. All non-U.S. citizens authorized to access CSI and/or FOMC information must sign a declaration of intent to become a lawful permanent resident and later a U.S. citizen when eligible.
Candidates must undergo an enhanced background check, comply with information handling rules, and will be tested for controlled substances prior to hire and during employment.
