Infrastructure Engineer
Location:
Portsmouth, NH (hybrid arrangement – three days onsite and two days remote)
Duration:
12 months (possibility of extension)
Base pay range:
$45.00/hr – $45.00/hr
Overview The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for planning and designing the services and solutions in collaboration with the service provider and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure they are in line with Standards, Architecture, quality and security requirements. A focus of the role will be IT Infrastructure in the OT context (shopfloor, building management systems, laboratory systems, etc.).
Responsibilities
Operate within the IT Infrastructure function and serve as a technical engineer spanning various infrastructure domains.
Support the Global Infrastructure team and all client’s sites.
Ensure service provider quality by managing relevant services through definition of KPIs, SLAs, and associated measurements and reporting.
Adhere to good IT practices, including Documentation practices, IT security, and change management practices.
Communicate and manage stakeholder expectations.
Perform cross-technical root cause analysis and define associated measures.
Work independently and make educated decisions to provide quick solutions to problems.
Qualifications
Communication and stakeholder management skills
Fluent in English
University degree (actual or working style)
Ability to define, select, implement and manage standards and associated services.
Ability to manage service provider, including definition of KPIs, measuring service quality and outcomes.
Ability to contribute to architecture blueprints, e.g. in the OT area.
Ability to contribute to appropriate documentation, e.g. processes, configuration documents, designs.
Hands on experience in multiple technologies and infrastructure areas, such as:
Defining service and technical solution requirements
Cisco switches and Wireless controllers
Hypervisors, such as vSphere and AHV
Infrastructure and testing as a Code knowledge highly desired (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, Podman)
Senior Linux knowledge is highly desired
Senior Windows Server knowledge is a must
Automation of infrastructure tasks
Active Directory
Backup technologies, ideally Veeam and Acronis
Disaster recovery
Basic Citrix and Windows Remote Desktop Services skills
Storage and File services
Database knowledge is highly desired
Can drive cultural and technological disruption
Ability to perform cross technical Root cause analysis and define associated measures
Ability to prioritize and quickly resolve issues
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
Effective prioritization and project management skills
Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment
Understand ITIL model and metrics for Service Delivery
