Duration: Contract till Nov 2026 with possibility to extend. The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for planning and designing the services and solutions in collaboration with the service provider and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure alignment with standards, architecture, quality and security requirements. A focus of the role will be IT Infrastructure in the OT context (shopfloor, building management systems, laboratory systems, etc.). This position operates within the IT Infrastructure function and serves as a technical engineer spanning various infrastructure domains. As a member of the Global Infrastructure team, this role offers support to all LONZA sites. The position ensures service provider quality by managing relevant services through the definition of KPIs, SLAs and associated measurements and reporting. The role holder also ensures good IT practices, including documentation practices, IT security and change management practices are adhered to. Responsibilities
Plan and design services and solutions in collaboration with the service provider; map business requirements to systems/technical requirements; ensure alignment with standards, architecture, quality and security requirements. Support IT Infrastructure across multiple domains and sites (global scope). Define and monitor KPIs/SLAs for service providers and report on service quality and outcomes. Promote and enforce good IT practices, including documentation, IT security and change management. Contribute to architecture blueprints, including OT-related areas. Contribute to appropriate documentation (processes, configuration documents, designs). Hands-on experience across technologies such as Cisco switches and Wireless controllers; hypervisors (e.g., Vsphere, AHV); Infrastructure as Code concepts (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Podman); and operating systems (Linux and Windows Server). Automation of infrastructure tasks; Active Directory; backup technologies (ideally Veeam and Acronis); disaster recovery; basic Citrix and Windows Remote Desktop Services skills; storage and file services; database knowledge is highly desired. Cross-technical root cause analysis and defining corrective and preventive measures; independent work style with the ability to make educated decisions and provide quick solutions; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective prioritization and project management. Understand ITIL concepts and metrics for Service Delivery; anticipate risks and devise in-the-moment solutions. Qualifications
Communication and stakeholder management skills Fluent in English University degree or equivalent (actual or working style) Ability to define, select, implement and manage standards and associated services Ability to manage service providers, including definition of KPIs, measuring service quality and outcomes Ability to contribute to architecture blueprints, in OT areas Ability to contribute to documentation, including processes, configuration documents, designs Hands-on experience in multiple technologies and infrastructure areas as listed in Responsibilities Other
