Our Avionics team advances flight deck solutions, airborne communications, vision systems, sensors and fire protection for commercial and military customers around the world. That means we’re helping people reach their destination safely and keeping pilots, passengers, flight crews, airlines, airports and military personnel connected and informed.
Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session that will run June - December (including the Fall semester). It is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity.
Co-op can sit at one of the following Avionics locations:
Cedar Rapids, IA
Burnsville, MN
Melbourne, FL
Wilson, NC
Wilsonville, OR
What You Will Do:
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EH&S programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as RTX policies and procedures.
Conduct workplace safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Support the implementation of training programs to educate employees on EH&S policies, procedures, and best practices.
Participate in risk assessments and support the development of mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and documentation.
Support emergency response planning, drills, and incident investigations as needed.
What You Will Learn:
Gain knowledge while working and collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including operations, engineering, and facilities, to promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Learn about sustainability and environmental stewardship initiatives, including waste reduction, recycling, and energy conservation projects.
Leverage and perform data collection, analysis, and reporting related to EH&S metrics, including incident reporting, waste management, and energy usage.
Qualifications You Must Have:
High School Diploma or equivalent and a student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
