Role description Arcadis seeks a Senior Traffic Analyst / Project Manager to join our transportation team in Orlando, FL. You will work alongside senior program managers, project managers, and engineers to lead the delivery of programs and projects across Florida. This role is within the larger Global Mobility Business Area. We partner with clients worldwide to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization, and digitization trends require mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world’s growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies and optimize the mobility of people and goods.

Role accountabilities

Serve as client‑facing project manager on traffic engineering projects with a focus on improving safety and operations.

Develop and manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects and programs.

Provide written and verbal updates on the status of projects to clients and internal senior management.

Present technical results and recommendations to clients.

Coordinate with a wide range of subject‑matter experts, including survey, roadway design, and environmental specialists, to successfully deliver client projects.

Work with client managers and operational leaders to develop project pursuit strategies and plans.

Utilize knowledge and experience conducting and documenting traffic studies following nationally accepted modeling practice.

Assist engineers in developing technical approaches and review technical results prepared by others.

Lead project team in the preparation of traffic engineering plans for signal designs, signing and marking designs, conceptual intersection designs, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs.

Under the leadership of senior program managers, coordinate and interface with clients to discuss technical elements of the project and present analysis results.

Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and interns in areas of technical proficiency and consultancy.

Key Skills

Understanding of traffic analysis tools including VISSIM, Sidra, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS.

Understanding of traffic operations principles such as ITE, MUTCD, AASHTO, and state DOT requirements, policies, manuals, and procedures.

Experience/familiarity with MicroStation and/or Bentley OpenRoads.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work well in groups and independently.

Qualifications & Experience

10+ years of relevant work experience.

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

Ability to obtain Florida PE within one to two months of hire.

Must possess a U.S. Driver’s License.

Experience in operational and/or safety analysis.

Experience with traffic analysis and engineering principles.

Experience in one or more of the following areas: FDOT design standards, ITS design, traffic operations studies, intersection conceptual drafting, or safety studies.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Transportation Engineering.

Experience managing large tasks and/or projects.

Experience with FDOT clients and projects.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO per year. The salary range for this position is $113,933–$193,686. Actual salaries vary based on experience, education, project, and location.
