ER RN Travel Nursing Job Details
Location: Asheville, NC 28801
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1530–$1640
Unit: Emergency Department (ER)
Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
Shift: 12 Hour Nights (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Bed Count: 101
Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 (ED behavioral holds)
Scheduling: Every other weekend required; flexibility to meet department needs
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year as an Emergency Room RN
Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume Emergency Department (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (must be current before start)
ENPC certification within 90 days of hire
Strong teamwork skills and ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
ER RN Responsibilities
Deliver high‑quality, compassionate patient care in a fast‑paced emergency room setting
Perform advanced nursing procedures and operate equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
Document patient care using Cerner EMR system
Maintain positive patient experiences using AIDET principles
Update patient boards and communicate effectively with patients and families
Collaborate with healthcare techs, unit clerks, and multidisciplinary teams
Float within all sections of the Emergency Department as needed
Adhere to department policies, attendance guidelines, and dress code (navy scrubs)
