The Postpartum Unit at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis is a 44-bed unit with a Level 1 Newborn Nursery, serving a diverse patient population in one of the state’s largest birth centers. Provides care to obstetrics patients and their families during the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum period. Comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on needs assessment; establishing the plan of care; supervising the progress; and modification of the plan of care as needed. Maintains education and competencies to remain proficient to provide high quality patient care practices and skills. Incorporates evidence-based nursing practice taking into consideration current statutes, rules and regulations when developing the plan of care. Establishes, in collaboration with the family and patient, realistic and measurable patient outcomes based on nursing diagnoses, patient present and potential capabilities, goals, resources and plan for continuity of care. Identifies outcomes that are age appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic and attainable. Coordinates, collaborates, and delegates appropriately to ensure care is provided in a safe, effective fashion. Fulfills all organizational requirements. Supplemental roles: Charge Nurse (when acting in this role) and Preceptor (when acting in this role) with responsibilities to coordinate, delegate, direct unit operation, and validate clinical competence of orientee. Associate's or Vocational degree Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree Labor and delivery experience Licenses/Certifications

Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required if working in state of MN upon hire; WI Department of Safety & Professional Services required if working in the state of WI upon hire Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire) NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation - Multisource required for identified units per hiring manager ACLS required for identified units per hiring manager RN-C in related specialty preferred Physical Demands

Medium Work: lifting weight up to 32 lbs occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy); up to 25 lbs frequently Tier Requirements

Tier 1: 6-months or more current RN experience in Abbott NW Postpartum unit required; Tier 2: RN postpartum experience required; Tier 3: 1-year acute care RN experience or new graduate RN with OB experience required (e.g., Internship, Capstone, Nursing Assistants). 0.5 FTE (40 hours every two-week pay period) 8-hour evening shifts Every other weekend rotation Pay Range

Pay Range: $42.92 to $71.47 per hour The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Starting rate depends on factors including experience, education, and union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available for certain shifts or work. Benefits Include
