Payroll Specialist

A growing construction company is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage all aspects of payroll processing for a diverse workforce, including hourly, salaried, and union employees. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction payroll, prevailing wage compliance, certified payroll reporting, and multi-state payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for field and office employees, including union and non-union workers. Maintain accurate employee records including timecards, job codes, and wage classifications. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including prevailing wage and Davis-Bacon Act. Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required for public works projects. Coordinate with HR and project managers to verify hours worked, deductions, and job allocations. Handle wage garnishments, deductions, and direct deposit setups. Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with month-end / year-end reporting. Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies promptly. Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee data at all times. Liaise with third-party vendors (e.g., benefits providers, payroll software) as needed. Qualifications
2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the construction or trades industry. Experience with certified payroll and union labor reporting is highly desirable. Knowledge of prevailing wage laws and labor compliance regulations. Proficient in payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, Foundation, Viewpoint, or similar platforms.
