TECHNICAL ACCUNTING CONSULTANT RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the primary technical accounting resource on project teams, advising on complex US GAAP matters.

Interpret and apply new accounting standards and corporate policy requirements, ensuring compliance with external reporting and internal controls.

Draft technical accounting memoranda, white papers, and supporting documentation for audit and leadership review.

Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including corporate accounting, FP&A, tax, and operations to identify and remediate accounting and reporting process gaps.

Support implementation of new accounting standards and related changes to systems, policies, and workflows.

Contribute to the preparation and review of financial disclosures, footnotes, and regulatory filings.

Participate in project-based workstreams such as system upgrades, process optimization initiatives, or M&A-related accounting.

Provide training and guidance to finance personnel on technical accounting topics.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics.

CPA required (Big 4 or national public accounting experience strongly preferred).

Minimum 7 years of experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, or accounting policy.

Deep knowledge of US GAAP with practical experience implementing new standards (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 730, etc.).

Strong experience drafting technical memos and audit-ready documentation.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex topics clearly.

High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
