As our Accounting Manager, you’ll play a critical leadership role in overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. You’ll guide a team of Senior and Staff Accountants while managing the close process, reviewing reconciliations, and supporting SEC reporting requirements.
Your leadership and technical expertise will directly impact the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of our financial statements, enabling informed decision-making across the organization.
What You’ll Do Every Day
Review and approve all journal entries prepared by Senior and Staff Accountants.
Prepare complex or high-impact journal entries requiring review and approval by the Controller.
Compile, complete, and review monthly variance analyses to provide insight into operational and financial performance.
Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate completion of all accounting activities each period.
Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations performed by accounting staff.
Prepare and complete more complex reconciliations for Controller review and approval.
Post payroll-related journal entries each pay period, ensuring accuracy and alignment with payroll records.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead implementation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Assist with SEC reporting support, including preparation and tie‑outs of schedules for quarterly (10‑Q) and annual (10‑K) filings.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Finance, Payroll, and Operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred, CPA‑eligible a plus).
5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or team lead responsibilities.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, accelerated month‑end close processes (5 days), and balance sheet reconciliation standards.
Experience in public company environments or with SEC reporting support preferred.
Proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, Acumatica, or similar).
Advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets, including variance analysis and data validation.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to coach and develop team members.
Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization.
Bonus points for
Experience in retail, eCommerce, or inventory‑driven industries.
Exposure to audit preparation and SOX compliance requirements.
