MULTIMODALITY MRI TECHNOLOGIST

Overview At Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) we help our patients live better, healthier lives and support one another. As a Multimodality MRI Technologist, you will be trained in at least two modalities: General Diagnostic Radiology, CT, MRI, Mammography, Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, or Nuclear Medicine/PET. You will work in any area you are qualified for based on operational needs.
Responsibilities
Review patient charts and physician orders to determine optimal imaging parameters for suspected pathology.
Select the proper imaging coil for each study.
Perform imaging studies using proper scanning techniques and protocols.
Collaborate with physicians to optimize MRI sequences for highest quality images.
Administer contrast media following MRI department protocols; verify pregnancy status when appropriate.
Obtain MRI consent documentation when appropriate and ensure patient is properly prepared for the procedure.
Document diagnostic and patient data in the appropriate records.
Perform post-processing techniques to optimize imaging or study.
Draw up sterile contrast media and other solutions adhering to infection control guidelines.
Administer emergency care including CPR as needed.
Screen patients for MRI contraindications and maintain safety zones.
Handle scheduled shifts, including holidays, weekends, overtime, and on‑call assignments as per policy.
Perform daily clerical duties using EMR, PACS, Teletracking, and other hospital systems.
Greet patients at exam arrival using A.I.D.E.T. standards.
Adhere to Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality policies.
Modify and deliver care tailored to patient needs, communicating at the appropriate level.
Perform daily and monthly quality assurance tasks.
Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push or pull a minimum of 50 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours per day.
Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or GED equivalent programs.
Certificate of Completion or Degree from an accredited Radiography or MRI program.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
One year of MRI experience.
Licenses And Certifications Required
NJ state license for Diagnostic Radiology (D.R).
Registration with the ARRT for MRI (or ARMRIT), CT, X-ray, IR, or Mammography.
NJ state license and Certification in Nuclear Medicine only if secondary modality is Nuclear Medicine.
AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (HCP) Certification.
Compensation Minimum rate of $43.63 hourly. This rate is a good faith estimate of minimum base pay at the time of posting, in compliance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act. It does not reflect the full value of our market‑competitive total rewards package.
