ASIC/FPGA Design Engineer — Scottsdale, AZ • Contract Position • Active Secret Clearance Required to Start Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains. Responsibilities
Define, design, simulate, verify, and document ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and/or FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) solutions Determine architecture, system-level simulation strategies, and detailed design approaches Define module interfaces and oversee all aspects of device-level design and simulation Evaluate and implement design flow processes including: High-level design, Synthesis, Place and Route, Timing analysis, Power utilization Develop test and simulation plans to validate functionality and performance Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and verify performance metrics Review and assess vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, device libraries, and simulation tools Support continuous improvement of ASIC/FPGA development processes Generate technical documentation using defined standards, processes, and tools Analyze customer specifications, proposals, and manuals to determine design feasibility Select appropriate components and equipment based on technical analysis and reliability May provide leadership and technical direction to junior engineers Independently determine technical solutions and contribute to major project milestones Plan and execute project tasks in support of the above activities Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field — Master’s degree acceptable with reduced experience Active Department of Defense Secret clearance required at time of hire 5+ years of relevant ASIC/FPGA experience (or 3+ years with Master’s) Deep understanding of ASIC/FPGA design principles and methodologies Design verification, simulation, synthesis, and timing closure FPGA/ASIC design tools (e.g., Vivado, Quartus, Synplify, ModelSim, etc.) Cross-disciplinary collaboration within hardware/software environments Proficient with Microsoft Office and technical documentation tools Regular interaction with internal teams; occasional external customer engagement Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabled Employer.
