Job Description The Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences at Alfred State College invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice. We seek a teaching‑focused educator who will mentor undergraduates from diverse backgrounds, adapt instruction to varying levels of student preparation, and emphasize applied, hands‑on learning across lower‑ and upper‑level criminal‑justice courses. The Criminal Justice Undergraduate (CJUS) program emphasizes social justice, ethics, law, innovation, and the cultivation of responsible citizen‑professionals and forward‑looking approaches to the field.
Qualifications & Requirements
Master’s degree in criminal justice or a related field (preferred: Ph.D. in criminal justice or related discipline).
Teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
Professional or applied experience in at least one of: cybersecurity, cybercrime investigations, digital evidence and analysis, private security or the corporate/industrial security sector.
Academic and/or professional expertise in global or comparative criminology, cybercrime/cybersecurity, digital evidence and analysis, private security, research methods, or related fields.
Salary & Benefits Salary: $54,000. Employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, retirement with a pension plan, paid time off, parental leave, and tuition assistance.
