As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial support to clients across various industries. The role offers exposure to diverse businesses, opportunities for professional growth, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with clients and internal team members.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for assigned clients, including recording journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling accounts.

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Maintain cash flow records and assist with bank reconciliations and balance sheet analysis.

Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial reporting.

Collaborate with clients to ensure proper classification of expenses and accurate financial reporting.

Provide insight and recommendations to improve financial procedures and internal controls.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other analytical projects as needed.

Coordinate with external accountants or auditors to support tax filings and compliance requirements.

Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation for all client records.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

Experience:

4+ years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a client-facing or outsourced accounting environment.

Accounting Knowledge:

Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Client Management:

Experience working with multiple entities or clients simultaneously is highly preferred.

Software Proficiency:

Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar ERP systems.

GAAP:

Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.

Attention to Detail:

High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Organization:

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Communication:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Collaboration:

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Excel:

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
