Position Overview The Billing Specialist enters medical, mental health, and addictions charges for all NARA NW facilities by auditing authorizations, diagnosis, copayment, payment allocation, insurance option, and eligibility of coverage. The candidate researches and resolves denied and rejected insurance claims, processes payments and refunds, and maintains accurate billing records.
Responsibilities
Follow up on outstanding insurance A/R accounts.
Review EOBs, research, and resubmit claims.
Verify eligibility using online websites.
Key in tickets and review associated reports.
Enter traceable tracks/notes on work tickets.
Bills secondary carriers.
Direct work to specific batches for processing.
File batches.
Process bad debt write-off tickets.
Submit and file claims to DSHS.
Train and gain proficiency on new and updated internal and external systems and databases.
Work collaboratively and maintain professional boundaries with clients, other NARA staff, team members, and treat everyone with respect and dignity at all times.
Other Duties
Process other revenue cycle projects and tasks as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
