Trinetix is seeking a highly motivated VM Migration Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to execute complex migrations, contributing to mission‑critical infrastructure transitions. Requirements
Virtualization Platform Expertise
Good understanding of VMware vSphere environments Experience with KVM‑based virtualization platforms, preferably HPE VM Essentials (VME) Knowledge of hypervisor‑level operations and management Operating System Knowledge
Good experience with Windows Server administration Good experience with Linux Server administration Understanding of disk partitioning, file systems, and boot loaders Migration Tools Proficiency
Experience with any previous VM Migration projects. Experience with virt‑v2v or similar VM conversion tools Familiarity with RiverMeadow migration platform is preferred Scripting and Automation
Proficiency in Python, Bash, and PowerShell scripting Experience with Ansible for automation Ability to develop custom automation scripts for migration workflows Networking
Understanding of network interfaces and configurations across platforms Knowledge of firewall configurations and security groups Experience with TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting Storage
Knowledge of various storage systems and configurations Experience with logical volume management (LVM) Understanding of disk formats (VMDK, qcow2) and conversion processes Soft Skills
Effective English communication for customer interactions Strong documentation skills Core Responsibilities
Perform detailed assessment and discovery of source VMware environments Create and execute migration plans Configure and deploy migration tools and appliances Develop and implement automation for large‑scale migrations Validate migrated VMs for proper functionality Troubleshoot migration issues and implement solutions Document migration processes and create handover documentation What We Offer
