GHT is seeking a senior mechanical design engineer for HVAC design for multifamily, institutional, and commercial buildings. Also seeking candidates with Commissioning and/or Energy/Equipment Study experience supporting the full lifecycles of buildings. Candidate should possess the following skills, traits, and credentials (equivalent combinations of education, certification/licensure, and experience considered): Strongly prefer 15+ years in HVAC design or commissioning/energy and equipment studies + Professional Engineering (PE) license within at least one U.S. jurisdiction. CxA is a plus if interested in Operations & Energy Services Studio (OES) Demonstrated proficiency in HVAC design for the built environment including HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, developing control systems and performing site surveys.
For OES: Lead MEP troubleshooting, Commissioning processes, third-party assessments, report writing, feasibility/due diligence, and post-construction services; familiar with Energy Modeling, Energy Load Calculation, and ASHRAE Energy Audits. Understanding of building codes within jurisdictions in the Washington, DC, metro area. Motivated to perform both independently and in a team setting; able to train other engineers. Demonstrated management skills including a commitment to client satisfaction, responsiveness, and quality; the ability to coordinate, organize, and manage information and people across all MEP disciplines. Exhibit the ability to delegate tasks, manage project schedules and budgets. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with AutoCAD (recent releases), Revit, MS Office.
For OES:
Energy Star Portfolio Manager/Benchmarking and other relevant software. Able to travel to job sites and conduct site visits, including carrying equipment/materials and being exposed to heights/climbing ladders/entering tight spaces. The majority of the work is in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, but some out of area travel may be required. Able to successfully complete pre-employment background check and drug test. Certain projects may have additional requirements.
