Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our eCommerce Software Engineering team. This role is responsible for the development, optimization, and maintenance of our Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) backend infrastructure, with a focus on delivering high-performance, scalable, and secure eCommerce solutions. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in backend development, a strong understanding of eCommerce best practices, and a passion for delivering robust, customer‑centric digital experiences.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain custom modules and integrations in Adobe Commerce (Magento 2).
Optimize backend performance to ensure fast load times, scalability, and efficient database interactions.
Collaborate with frontend developers, QA, and product teams to implement new features and resolve issues.
Build and maintain integrations with third‑party systems such as payment gateways, ERP, CRM, and shipping providers.
Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.
Write clean, well‑documented, and testable code following Magento best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve backend‑related technical issues in staging and production environments.
Stay current with Adobe Commerce updates, security patches, and emerging eCommerce technologies.
Contribute to architectural decisions and long‑term platform strategy.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in backend development, with at least 3 years working specifically with Adobe Commerce (Magento 2).
Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and experience with REST/SOAP APIs.
Experience developing custom modules and working with Adobe Commerce’s core architecture.
Familiarity with eCommerce business processes including catalog management, checkout, order processing, and fulfillment.
Experience integrating Adobe Commerce with third‑party systems (e.g., ERP, payment gateways, shipping APIs).
Knowledge of security best practices in eCommerce applications.
Comfortable working in Git‑based development environments and CI/CD pipelines.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Adobe Commerce certifications (e.g., Adobe Certified Expert – Adobe Commerce Developer) are a plus.
Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., Adobe Commerce Cloud, AWS) is a plus.
Experience with the B2B capabilities of Adobe Commerce Cloud is a plus.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree plus relevant experience required.
Salary Range
$120,000 – $150,000 annual base salary.
