8240 Woburn, Massachusetts • Operations & Production • Full‑time regular

Overview The Manager Materials Planning will be responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple production planners to meet schedule requirements and customer commitments. Ensure team operational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. Facilitate cross‑functional root cause problem solving (RCPS). Drive continuous improvement of the production line.

Responsibilities

Supervises planners in the production cell, including staff selection, performance management, coaching, training, and employee development.

Actively develops a high-performance team with the skills needed to conduct effective performance dialogues.

Conducts process confirmations to ensure standard work processes are being followed and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.

Ensures 5S practices are adhered to and safety, health and environmental compliance is included as part of everyday activities.

Maintains KPI and visual management boards for the manufacturing cell and reacts to metrics to implement improvements.

Encourages employee participation through performance dialogues and root cause analysis.

Introduces, motivates and coaches continuous improvement initiatives.

Identifies problems such as part shortages or process issues and facilitates resolution.

Identifies opportunities to eliminate waste and participates in continuous improvement activities.

Supports the quarterly obsolescence process and manages on‑hand materials to support manufacturing.

Leads systemic analysis of transactional errors and coordinates with stockroom, procurement, and finance.

Provides training as required.

Interfaces with other departments for feedback and support.

Creates and implements staff development and performance plans.

Conducts performance reviews and provides honest feedback.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications Minimum

Bachelor's degree.

3–5 years of relevant experience.

Experience developing plans and schedules for operations on critical programs.

Experience with first‑unit flow plans and documents.

Experience working with stakeholders to develop manufacturing plans, ensuring ERPs are aligned with program schedules.

Production planning experience in defense or aerospace contracting.

Eligibility as a U.S. Person under export laws.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Certified Purchasing Manager (NAPM) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (APICS).

Prior people‑management experience in a manufacturing environment.

Adaptability to changing priorities and multi‑tasking.

Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills.

Understanding of supply‑chain principles including forecasting and replenishment.

Demonstrated team‑working skills.

Salary Range: Manager Materials Planning $103,218.83 ~ $154,828.24 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on geographical location, job function, education, and experience.
