We’re hiring a hands-on, strategic Senior Social Media Manager to lead the owned media function within our marketing team. This person will own channel strategy, management of social media agency, content creation/ideation, community engagement, and performance analysis—working closely with internal stakeholders (paid media, creative, publicity) and external partners to elevate our brand and book releases. You’ll transform ideas into polished campaigns, drive measurable growth, and help expand our brand’s voice across platforms. Responsibilities

Lead the strategy and execution of organic social media across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, Reddit, Twitter, YouTube and emerging platforms. Oversee and manage our social media agency partner, ensuring alignment on strategy, creative direction, execution, and reporting. Drive the creation of social assets, producing content in-house and collaborating with Creative and Agency teams to deliver additional photo and video assets. Partner with agency to plan and maintain a social media content calendar aligned with key initiatives, campaigns, and timelines. Analyze channel performance, translating insights into actionable optimizations and reporting results regularly to internal stakeholders. Manage community engagement and audience development, including direct messages, follower interaction, and proactive participation in fan and creator spaces. Collaborate cross-functionally with paid, creative, editorial, and author teams to ensure social initiatives are integrated into broader campaigns and launches. Stay current on social platform trends and algorithm changes to inform new opportunities, channel expansion, and long-term strategy. Manage owned media and website content, including creating and updating homepage & collection pages, coordinating blog content with freelancers, maintaining the event calendar, and serving as the marketing liaison with our web development partner. Required Qualifications

5-7 years of experience managing organic social media in a direct-to-consumer, media, publishing, or creative brand environment. Demonstrated track record of growing social channels (followers, engagement, reach) Proficiency with social media tools/platforms (e.g. Later, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.) Strong skills in content creation: video, photography, editing, and visual storytelling Excellent writing, copy editing, and communications skills Experience analyzing metrics using analytics tools (native platforms, Google Analytics, etc.) Ability to lead or coordinate with external agencies/partners Strategic thinking: able to propose & evolve social strategies, pivot quickly, and stay current with industry trends Highly collaborative, proactive and detail-oriented Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in publishing, media/entertainment, or digital content space Familiarity with design & motion tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere, After Effects, CapCut, Canva Experience scaling social at a growth-stage or creator-driven company Understanding of SEO & backend website navigation Some management or mentorship experience Degree in Marketing, Creative, Communications, or related field Physical Requirements

Primarily office-based work setting. Must be able to work onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from our office in El Segundo. Work hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to walk, stand, and move around the office as needed. Seniority level
