Join a leading global freight forwarding and logistics provider as an
Air & Ocean Import Agent , where you’ll play a key role in managing the end-to-end import process for international shipments. This position requires strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of import regulations, and a proactive approach to customer service and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage all aspects of international air and ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery.
Prepare, review, and process all required import documentation including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and customs entries.
Ensure compliance with all U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other government agency regulations.
Communicate daily with overseas partners, carriers, customs brokers, and clients to track shipments and resolve any operational issues.
Provide accurate and timely updates to customers, maintaining high service standards and transparency throughout the shipment lifecycle.
Manage data entry and shipment records within the company’s transportation management system.
Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, reduce delays, and optimize customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in international freight forwarding, with a focus on air and ocean import operations.
Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations, INCO terms, and documentation requirements.
Experience with Customs clearance procedures and working with CBP and PGA (Partner Government Agencies).
Proficiency with logistics software and MS Office applications.
Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-driven environment.
Preferred
Experience with cargo management systems (e.g., CargoWise, SAP TM, or similar).
Familiarity with import compliance programs and bonded warehouse procedures.
