Base pay range $110,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr
Hazen is seeking a qualified and experienced Principal Engineer to support the planning, design and construction of water and wastewater facility infrastructure. Candidates must have 6 to 12 years of relevant municipal water/wastewater design and construction experience.
The position will include a wide range of projects to include planning, design, permitting, and construction of structures in the ‘water space’ (i.e. drinking water, wastewater, water resources, conveyance). Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs small projects or parts of large projects. Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of engineers and technicians. Estimates manpower needs and schedules. Client development, project management, technical leadership and staff mentoring opportunities will be possible for the selected individual across Hazen’s Northeast businesses. Primary focus will be projects in Upstate NY and the northeast. Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel.

Required Qualifications
8–12 years’ experience in the water/wastewater field.
Experience in successfully delivering projects with collaborative, multi‑disciplinary teams.
Experience in planning, design, and construction for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Proficient in all MS Office based computer software.Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
Self‑starter with attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills.
A current PE license is required (NY preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment).
BS degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (MS or MEng preferred).
