Base pay range $165,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

Hazen is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Associate focused on wastewater and stormwater collection system analysis, investigations, design and subject matter expert (SME). Candidate shall be capable of supervising staff and managing projects. Candidate shall also be able to lead business development activities including preparation of proposals and presentations. Candidates must have a minimum of 20 years of relevant municipal wastewater and stormwater experience.

The position will include client development, project management, technical leadership and staff mentoring in Upstate NY. Engagement in regional Northeast and national projects based on technical expertise is likely as well. Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of 20 years’ experience in the wastewater field (including project management).

Experience in successfully delivering projects by leveraging collaborative, multi‑disciplinary teams.

Experience in planning and conducting sewer and storm sewer investigations, planning, permitting, design and construction management of wastewater and stormwater collection and conveyance systems.

Experience with PACP condition assessment rating.

Proficient in all MS Office based computer software.

Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.

Self‑starter with attention to detail.

Strong organizational skills.

A current PE license is required (NY preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment).

Educational Requirements:

BS degree in environmental, agricultural, civil, mechanical, or chemical engineering (MS or ME preferred)
