Base Pay Range
$150,000.00/yr - $173,500.00/yr

Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Responsibilities Kforce has a client in Los Angeles, CA that is seeking a Manager - Data & MS Cloud Governance responsible for overseeing the firm's data management practices to ensure data is accessible, secure, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements. This role involves developing and implementing data standards and policies that support organizational goals and enable effective data sharing and protection.
Developing a data governance framework: Create and implement policies, procedures, and standards for managing data assets throughout their lifecycle using tools like Microsoft Purview Information Protection, Data Lifecycle Management, Data Loss Prevention, iManager Threat Manager, and Varonis
Implementing data retention policies: Review and design technical controls to enforce policies on how long data is retained and how it is disposed of
Implementing data classification policies: Define and enforce classification standards based on sensitivity, criticality, and compliance requirements through technical controls
Reviewing data security and privacy controls: Ensure governance technologies and procedures protect data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure
Providing training: Educate employees on data governance best practices and their roles in managing data responsibly
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data access/sharing needs and guide secure, compliant solution design
Partner with the Information Governance Team to execute directives from the Office of the General Counsel
Lead implementation of Microsoft Purview Information Protection, Data Lifecycle Management, and Data Loss Prevention
Design reporting and alerting capabilities to support data governance
Provide thought leadership for O365 and other cloud platforms
Work with Security Architecture to develop secure design patterns
Support the GRC team by logging new risks and updating mitigation plans
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in InfoSec, Info Assurance, CS, or related field
Preferred certifications: CISA, CISM, GSEC, CISSP, CRISC
7+ years of experience in IT, InfoSec, or risk management
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Purview and data governance tools
Strong grasp of risk and security concepts
Basic understanding of law firm operations
Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
Strong project management and understanding of tech-related operational risks
Ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships
High-level technical knowledge of security platforms and architectures
Familiarity with CSF, NIST, ISO standards and emerging threats
Deep understanding of cloud and data governance technologies
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
Knowledge of GRC practices across governance, process, and technical domains
