About the Role Join our dynamic Data Governance team as a Data Governance Analyst II. In this role you will ensure the seamless operation of critical systems by developing, implementing, and continually managing a data governance framework. You will establish standards and provide guidance for safeguarding, storing, retaining, utilizing, and complying with data‑related regulations at SPP, and you will research ideal data governance tools, maintain related policies and procedures, monitor processes, implement controls, and promote best practices in data management.

Compensation Pay Range: $76,000.00 – $96,900.00. Salary may be adjusted based on qualified candidates' experience and other factors.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and continually manage a data governance framework.

Establish standards and provide guidance for safeguarding, storing, retaining, utilizing, and complying with data‑related regulations at SPP.

Research the ideal data governance tools for data cataloging.

Maintain data governance‑related policies, standards, and procedures.

Monitor processes, implement controls, and promote best practices in data management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, operations research, information systems, engineering, economics, or equivalent work experience supporting data governance technology processes.

Level II: Three (3) years’ experience in a similar data analysis focused on data governance or data quality management role utilizing data management tools such as Informatica, SAS, SQL, and other similar tools.

Excellent listening, interpersonal, collaboration, written and verbal communication skills.

Experience as a “team player” with strong relationship management skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels within the organization.

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.

Applicable knowledge of data governance frameworks or similar frameworks (e.g., data lifecycle management, data types, data lineage, data methodologies, data retention, data analytics and reporting, data protections).

Written documentation skills applicable to policies, processes, procedures.

Knowledge of data analytics and data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, SAP BI, Power BI, Toad, Tableau).

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Ability to consume technical concepts and translate them to non‑technical staff.

Self‑starter who can create, facilitate new concepts, engage in multiple initiatives, and interact with a diverse group of stakeholders across the company with minimal oversight.

Ability to exercise independent judgment without fear of reprisal.

Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment while handling multiple priorities.

Excellent organizational skills.

General understanding of industry compliance requirements.

Preferred

Experience with cloud and on‑prem data systems.

Hands‑on experience with data‑related tool implementations.

Experience with automation of data governance processes (e.g., metadata harvesting, workflow approval, reporting).

Knowledge and/or hands‑on experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies and data protection strategies.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Position Type, Location and Hours Full‑time, onsite hybrid position based in Little Rock, Arkansas (Central Arkansas). The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours or shift schedules potentially required. Job requires managing staff on rotating shift schedules with long hours.

Travel Requirement Moderate travel (approximately 10%).
