Radiation Therapist – Overlook Medical Center (Per Diem)
Base pay range: $48.00/hr – $84.50/hr
Job Description Responsible for performing treatments on patients with radiation therapy as prescribed by a Radiologist according to established practices and standards. Work closely with patients and provide support to them throughout the process by determining their needs, answering questions, and providing the best medical care possible.
Principal Accountabilities
Check prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification.
Liaise with physicist and supportive care personnel.
Prepare equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices, and position patient according to prescription.
Enter data into computer and set controls to operate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage.
Observe and reassure patient during treatment and report unusual reactions to physician.
Accurately document treatment in the department EMR and correctly capture billing codes.
Maintain records, reports, and files as required.
Follow principles of radiation protection for patient, self, and others.
May assist in dosimetry procedures and tumor localization.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
Active NJ Radiation therapy license.
Varian machine experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
Proficient in using Varian True Beam, Align RT and Aria.
SBRT and SRS experience a plus.
