Overview

The Project Engineer (PE) serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert, supporting multiple accounts with high-level engineering oversight. This position enhances the traditional Project Engineer role by incorporating leadership, presales collaboration, and ownership across the full project lifecycle—design, implementation, and closeout. (WEST- San Francisco, Irvine, Livermore CA) Can be up to 50% Travel $50-$55/hr

Contract to hire Base pay range

$50.00/hr - $55.00/hr Preferred Qualifications

BICSI certification (e.g., RCDD) or equivalent. Experience with construction drawings, CAD, or Revit. Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet). Experience working in a matrix-style project organization. Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

Serve as the primary technical authority within the assigned project. Provide mentorship and direction while working alongside Project Engineers, Project Coordinators and Implementations Specialist ensuring standardization, quality, and efficiency. Act as the senior escalation point for complex design or implementation challenges (3rd-level escalations). Project Lifecycle Ownership:

Design Phase:

Lead the development of Level of Effort (LOE) program designs. Review and create accurate, scalable Bills of Materials (BOMs). Participate in sales development engagements to translate customer needs into actionable designs. Develop account-specific engineering programs to support long-term success. Implementation Phase:

Oversee project progress from a technical perspective. Manage critical escalations and ensure technical solutions are implemented effectively. Initiate and create Field Change Orders (FCOs) in response to evolving project conditions. Closeout Phase:

Review and submit final engineering deliverables to the PMO for project closure. Approve vendor invoices to ensure alignment with deliverables and scope. Lead After Action Review meetings to capture lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement. Finalize and update RAF (Required Asset Form) documentation. Collaborate with sales and solution teams to scope and quote new opportunities. Ensure all proposed solutions are technically sound, feasible, and aligned with client requirements. Participate in customer meetings and contribute technical expertise during proposal development.

Quality Assurance & Documentation:

Maintain high standards across all technical deliverables. Ensure documentation is thorough, accurate, and aligned with industry standards (e.g., BICSI, TIA/EIA). Champion process improvements and technical innovation within the team.
