Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing processes and systems to improve production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role focuses on tooling design, process improvement, equipment commissioning, and cross‑functional collaboration to support new and existing product lines in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Tooling & Equipment Design:
Re‑engineer and design tooling to extend life cycles and support new product launches.
Coordinate acquisition and implementation of new manufacturing equipment with external suppliers.
Commission and validate new equipment installations.
Process Improvement:
Lead and participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement events to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Optimize manufacturing processes to improve dollar‑per‑man‑hour performance.
Develop and maintain process flow maps, floor layouts, and standardized work documentation.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Product Design and Production teams to develop manufacturing documentation for new products.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to production teams.
Mentor and support new manufacturing engineers to ensure consistent information flow and process understanding.
Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on mineral processing systems including thickeners, polymer systems, slurry pumps, and cyclones/separators.
Deliver on‑site technical support to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in either Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban and 5S
