THE OPPORTUNITY:
This Engineer will be responsible for completing the automation portion of capital projects in support of Plant Capital execution and plant technical support, enabling the plant to meet its Market, Safety, Productivity, and Quality goals. They will assist management with pre-studies of deployment and development projects in the EE / Automation field, complete design studies, oversee procurement and fabrication of equipment, and lead installation, commissioning, and startup in an industrial plant environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Provide detailed electrical design and automation programming for assigned projects.
Provide estimates and technical schedules for all phases of process equipment addition, replacement, or upgrade.
Support and train plant maintenance teams on new automation systems.
Collaborate with internal support groups to achieve objectives and manage contract engineering when needed.
Participate in major capital projects from start to finish, including equipment reception, commissioning, and acceptance.
Manage design studies for electrical equipment and installations, ensuring adherence to specifications, regulations, performance, and cost standards.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical, Computer, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
Minimum 3 years of engineering experience.
Minimal travel (5-10%) for vendor acceptance and support.
Experience with electrical design standards and controls systems design using CAD tools.
Proficiency in PLC programming, including GRAFCET, Ladder Logic, and Structured Text; experience with Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) and Siemens preferred.
Experience with Variable Frequency Drives and Motion Control technologies; familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, and Control Techniques preferred.
Experience with HMI configuration and communication, with Rockwell experience as a plus.
Knowledge of control systems networking and communication protocols.
Project team leadership or management experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with vision system configuration and robotic systems (Fanuc, ABB) is a plus.
