Overview

The Senior Manager of Global Travel at Emerson is responsible for managing more than $150M in agency and partner spend while serving more than 20,000 individual travelers across the globe. This role involves developing and executing strategic multi-year initiatives across all world areas while managing Emerson preferred travel agencies, credit card programs, airlines and airline partner relationships, and other contracted vendors to minimize costs and cash while fulfilling employee travel expectations. Overall accountability for the success of the program rests with this role. Responsibilities

Leadership of a team of regional travel program managers in Europe, Asia, and South / Latin America responsible for day-to-day activities related to agency performance and employee compliance with program policies and guidelines. Requires periodic travel to regions to meet with Emerson employees and vendors. Also work with newly acquired businesses to adopt travel program technology and suppliers, and with companies being divested. Activities occur on an ongoing basis and require coordinating actions with impacted businesses and program partners to ensure a clean operations and finance transition.

Manage key card, agency, airline and other vendor relationships, ensuring bilateral contractual performance while supporting strategic program objectives; when necessary, collaborate with Emerson’s consulting partners to conduct competitive bids and/or market assessments prior to contracting and/or renewal.

Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of mission critical travel technologies and integration of travel tools and software including internal travel websites, 3rd party software and service configurations used (OLBT, IATAs, and GDS), employee security and safety applications, and emerging travel technologies to support Emerson’s digital roadmap initiatives.

Coordinate with Emerson global security to ensure traveler safety and security, including regional and local risk management monitoring and crisis management, and assessment and monitoring of digital security providers, crisis response partners, reinsurers, and contracted properties such as hotels and conference facilities.

Expand and develop program and service capabilities to address evolving regional market conditions where Emerson has a significant operating and/or sales presence (e.g., North America, Asia, Middle East, Europe, South America), incorporating employee feedback in a proactive and structured way.

Lead Emerson’s credit card program, including the selection and management of BTA and Expense card providers and partners, working with local program administrators and finance leaders to adopt industry standard expense management and reimbursement models while maintaining loss recovery ratios in line with industry best practices.

Define and implement a strategic framework for Internal and Customer-facing Meetings and Event Management, including procurement strategy and associated technology, internal communications and branding, and implementation and adoption of work policies and guidelines.

For This Role, You Will Need

B.A. or B.S. Degree required; M.B.A. in Business or related field is desirable.

10+ years of management experience in corporate, agency, or commercial travel industry required.

Outstanding organizational and project management skills.

Experience leading organizational transformation and complex projects.

Experience procuring and managing complex vendor and partner air, hotel, and other agreements.

Strong practical knowledge of the travel industry, including suppliers, technologies, and emerging trends.

Expertise in Travel and/or Meetings operations, booking tools, current technology solutions, and industry trends.
