Responsibilities
Schedule and assist students in small groups with their enrichment work as directed by the licensed teacher.
Assist the licensed teacher in procuring and coordinating enrichment opportunities for the Project Think! Program.
Provide individual and special program assistance as assigned by the licensed teacher.
Assist the licensed Advanced Learning teacher by guiding small groups of students through the “Independent Investigation” research process.
Help students formulate questions around personal interests, gather information from multiple resources, and create a variety of products to share their learning with others.
Schedule and assist students individually and in groups with their enrichment work as directed by the high potential resource teacher.
Assist the licensed Advanced Learning teacher by guiding small groups of students through the “Independent Investigation” research process.

Qualifications
Flexibility in work schedule
Previous teaching experience and/or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
Demonstrated interest or experience in science, math, or engineering.
Experience in working with gifted/talented elementary students.
Experience in working with elementary students with an emphasis on students in Grades 3-5.
Demonstrated computer skills are desirable.
Demonstrated flexibility and creativity.
Evidence of ability to be firm but kind, caring but consistent, patient and vigilant.
Evidence of ability to accept direction from supervising teacher(s) and work as a team member with other professionals.
Evidence of ability to schedule parent volunteers as needed.
Evidence of ability to be resourceful and try options within the plan laid out with teachers; act independently within scope of program to assist students in their enrichment studies.
Proven record of positive interpersonal skills with students and teachers.
Proven record of good organizational skills, punctuality and responsibility.
Evidence of willingness to participate in additional training if/when available.
Evidence of knowledge of research skills and reference materials.
Evidence of willingness to abide by confidentiality policy and practice of the district.
Assignment and Wages Assignment:
Advanced Learning Para for Independent Investigations 14 hours a week
and
Advanced Learning Para for Project Think 7 hours a week
30 Weeks per year
Wages:
Starting at $21.86 Wages can be found in Appendix A, Class C. Not medical or dental benefit eligible.
