Job Details

Location: New Haven, CT 06510

Facility: Level I Trauma Center – Outpatient Infusion Clinic (Hematology/Oncology)

Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

Duration: 13‑week contract

Start Date: October 31, 2025

Shift: Day shift, 5x8‑hour shifts/week (08:00 – 16:30)

Hours per Week: 40 (Guaranteed hours)

Weekend Requirement: As needed

Patient Ratio: Average 1:6

Charting System: Epic EMR

Scrub Color: Royal blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of outpatient infusion RN experience (hematology/oncology preferred)

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut or eligibility to obtain

BLS certification required

ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required

Experience with Epic charting

Ability to float to other units as needed

Pending RN license accepted (must apply prior to submission)

One professional reference required

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Outpatient Infusion RN Responsibilities

Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusions to adult and geriatric patients

Monitor patients for infusion‑related side effects and respond to emergencies (e.g., anaphylaxis, tumor lysis syndrome)

Access and manage central lines, ports, and IVs

Educate patients and families on treatment plans and side effect management

Coordinate care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (pharmacy, social services, radiology, rapid response)

Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR

Float to other clinical units as needed
