Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts per week (08:00 – 16:30)
Hours per Week: 40
Guaranteed Hours: Yes
Patient Ratio: Average 1:6
Weekend Coverage: As needed
Charting System: Epic
Scrub Color: Royal blue
Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100–$2250
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent outpatient infusion experience (hematology experience preferred)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Connecticut RN license required; pending license accepted)
ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) chemotherapy certification required
BLS certification required
Epic charting experience required
Ability to float to other units as needed
One professional reference required
Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
First‑time travel nurses accepted
Must be >75 miles from facility
Oncology RN Responsibilities
Deliver safe and effective infusion therapy for hematology and oncology patients
Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications
Monitor and manage side effects and complications related to cancer treatment
Educate patients and families on oncology treatment plans and symptom management
Access and manage central lines, ports, and IVs
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including pharmacy, social services, and rapid response
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic
Float to other units as required
