Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Design).
Minimum 5 years experience in product development within metal working environment.
Proficiency with fully integrated computer systems; experience in Bill of Materials (BOM) development, Material Requirements Planning, CAD software, and FEA (Nastran, Cosmos).
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, die casting, extrusion, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Pareto Charts.
Strong computer skills (MS Office), problem‑solving, analytical and critical thinking, organizational skills, attention to detail.
Ability to learn hands‑on, gather data, compile reports, multi‑task, establish priorities, meet deadlines.
Ability to work in a team, make decisions with minimal supervision.
Specific Areas of Responsibility
Manage projects throughout life cycle to ensure on‑time/budget completion.
Assist sales managers in providing solutions and developing products.
Ensure product design objectives align with manufacturing capabilities, drawings, and BOM.
Create and process documentation for all current projects.
Maintain relationships with clients and vendors; travel to testing facilities and construction sites as needed.
Conduct analytical studies for client and agency approval.
Use patent research tools.
Responsible for product testing (curving, deflection, specifications). Ensure compliance with ASTM, UL, FM, etc.
Provide Purchasing Team and Vendors with product information; approve new die drawings and first article inspections.
Monitor team goals and opportunities for improvement.
Other duties as assigned.
