As an I&C Engineer in Amentum Nuclear Projects business unit in Idaho you will be joining a team that includes licensed professional engineers that are recognized technical experts in nuclear construction, nuclear waste treatment, radioactive waste cleanup, environmental management and advanced clean energy solutions. Experience with originating and checking standard I&C deliverables including P&ID’s, Instrument Lists, IO Lists, Cause and Effect Matrix, control narratives, loop drawings, control system architecture drawings, instrument datasheets and sizing instrumentation, creating specifications for industrial control systems, instruments and final control elements. Support conceptual, preliminary and detailed design projects using engineering knowledge and design experience. Originate and check standard I&C deliverables including P&ID’s, Instrument Lists, IO Lists, Cause and Effect Matrix, control narratives, loop drawings, control system architecture drawings, instrument datasheets and sizing instrumentation; create specifications for industrial control systems, instruments and final control elements. Collaborate with engineers and peers to ensure design quality and compliance. Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited university in engineering. At least 7 years of job-related experience. Ability to review submittals and compare with the design to identify gaps before approval. Excellent communications and analytical skills. Ability to pass and maintain a basic security clearance (as required). U.S. citizenship (due to the nature of work). Experience and knowledge with ISA standards. Experience with originating and checking standard I&C deliverables including P&ID’s, Instrument Lists, IO Lists, Cause and Effect Matrix, control narratives, loop drawings, control system architecture drawings, instrument datasheets and sizing instrumentation, creating specifications for industrial control systems, instruments and final control elements. Preferred Qualifications

EIT or Professional Engineering License. Knowledge of FAT and commissioning procedures and oversight requirements. Rockwell/Allen Bradley experience. Experience with programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text, and Sequential Flow. 10% travel availability. Experience with Studio 5000 Logix and the FactoryTalk suite of programs. Experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation. Experience with Revit, AutoCAD. Residence within commutable distance to Idaho National Laboratory. Field experience including engineering construction support, startup and commissioning. Knowledge of quality requirements such as NQA-1. Essential Functions

Project Information:

The primary work location is approximately 55 miles from Idaho Falls at Idaho National Laboratories. The secondary work location will be Amentum offices located in Idaho Falls. The status of construction and installation of the I&C systems will determine work location for different periods of time. Work Environment:

Office environment (95%). Telework is not an option; all work performed from secure office environment. May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals and industrial facilities. Physical Requirements:

PPE and training provided. Must be able to move and sit for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs. Vision correctable to 20/20. Candidate must be able to read and use SmartPlant design software unassisted. Equipment and Machines:

Standard office equipment - PC, telephone, copier, job related software (SmartPlant design) and other related equipment (90%). Attendance:

Regular attendance mandatory (100%). Overtime/work outside normal schedule required (as needed). Travel:

Travel may be required (10–20% typical). Other Essential Functions

U.S. Citizenship required. No dual citizens. Valid driver’s license required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must maintain professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. Must pass a pre-employment drug and background check.
