What You’ll Do:
Collaborate with programmers to develop instrumentation and controls logic. Read, analyze, and interpret project documents, specifications, and instructions to ensure project requirements are met. Evaluate life safety and regulatory requirements, including CA Fire Code and electrical codes. Work with AutoCAD and Revit designers to create monitoring and controls system layouts, block diagrams, and wiring schematics. Specify and manage equipment such as gas detectors, alarms, instrumentation, and PLCs. Prepare proposals, define project scope and deliverables, and manage customer relationships. Coordinate field installation, testing, and inspections, focusing on customer service and problem-solving.
What You Need to Succeed:
Required:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. EIT certification with the ability to obtain a PE license in CA. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent certifications demonstrating a commitment to professional development. Strong knowledge of control systems architecture and networks. Proficient in troubleshooting control systems and process controls. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience creating and editing AutoCAD drawings. Low voltage experience and ability to perform general load calculations.
Preferred:
PE License. Knowledge of PLC and touchscreen programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
