About the Role

We’re seeking a highly motivated Operations Excellence Engineer to lead process improvement and standardization efforts within our Shippensburg manufacturing facility. This role plays a key part in driving operational performance by identifying and executing projects that reduce variation, eliminate waste, enhance efficiency, and improve quality and safety.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on problem solver who thrives on the plant floor, combining Lean and Six Sigma methodologies with a passion for continuous improvement. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, coach plant personnel, and lead initiatives that make a measurable impact on cost, capacity, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

Champion the Operational Excellence culture—train, coach, and guide plant leaders and team members on Lean and Continuous Improvement principles.

Lead process improvement projects using Lean, DMAIC, and Six Sigma methodologies to drive measurable gains in cost reduction, quality, and throughput.

Partner with plant leadership to assess and communicate customer requirements, ensuring process controls reflect best practices and compliance standards.

Collaborate across departments (Quality, Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering) to identify and execute high‑impact improvement opportunities.

Lead structured problem‑solving efforts, including Root Cause Analysis, A3s, Centerlining, 5S, SMED, Standard Work, and Process Optimization.

Analyze and monitor plant KPIs and critical processes—establish baselines, track metrics, and evaluate performance trends.

Support compliance with Food Safety and Quality Plans as well as regulatory standards (OSHA, USDA, FDA, EPA, etc.).

Drive implementation of Digital Standard Work (Dozuki) and other digital transformation tools to improve visibility and performance.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.

2–6 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or process improvement roles.

Proficiency with DMAIC, Lean, Kaizen, and Change Management principles.

Experience in high‑volume continuous process flow and experimental design.

Strong analytical skills, including statistical analysis, financial impact assessment, and data interpretation.

Proficiency in Minitab, MS Office, and Windows‑based systems.

Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.

Familiarity with logistics, inventory, supply chain, and safety processes a plus.

Willingness to travel up to 10%.
